Cross-country skiing in Tarvisio is not a sideshow: there are more than sixty kilometres of tracks spread across Tarvisio, Camporosso, Fusine, Valbruna and Sella Nevea. That is more than many famous resorts have, and almost nobody knows it.
The Camporosso plain loop is four kilometres, easy, and it is the right one to start with: open plain, no descent to frighten you, and you come back to where you started with no chance of going wrong.
If you have never put cross-country skis on, begin here and not at the Arena Paruzzi: that one is homologated for competition and its technical section is genuinely demanding. Four level kilometres are enough to find out whether you enjoy it.
