The Pellarini hut from the Saisera valley

You set off from Valbruna, turn into the Saisera valley and leave the car at the car park at eight hundred and sixty metres, where the road closes to traffic. From there the CAI 616 path climbs into the woods: first a forest road, then the forest itself.
The hut stands at one thousand four hundred and ninety-nine metres, on the north side of the Jof Fuart, and that wall is the reason people come: it is one of the classic bases of Julian Alps climbing, and the view from there resembles nothing else in the area.
It is the right climb for anyone who wants a proper mountain hut without having the experience: path 616 is well marked and has no difficult passages, and the two hours pass almost entirely in the shade of the woods. The other route you will find on maps is wilder and more slippery: do not take it by mistake.
Inside there are forty-five beds in six dormitories and home cooking with local produce: forty-five seats inside, thirty on the terrace.
